We used the scent of
Sumi to capture the
image of the unrelenting
darkness of Jagi, who has done
all sorts of evil. Sumi is a kind of
Japanese ink. A fresh and elegant scent
of Sumi wafts in the air and has a mysterious
charm combined with the jet-black color.
The case back is engraved with "MADE IN JAPAN".

The work was published serialy in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1983 to 1988. It was written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara. Set in the end of the century when civilization colasped to a nuclear war. Violence now rules the world. Kenshiro, the inheritor of Hokuto Shinken, is depicted as growing up as a savior filled with love and sorrow. This work has become a social phenomenon and had a high popularity with TV show, movies, and other supplementary stories featuring supporting characters.
